None of my family member smoke. Not my grandpa siblings, not my dad’s sibling and not my mum’s siblings (But I suspected my brother did when he was studying in Melbourne, perhaps until today he’s still a social smoker, but he dares not smoke in the house. My parents are going to kill him. Each time I ask him about it, he denies he ever smoke), you won’t find a single astray in our homes. Smoking is strictly PROHIBITED and FORBIDDEN in our home. My great grandmother used to be smoker, but she passed away when I was one and my mum told me my 2nd uncle was a chain smoker before he met his wife but that was way before I was born. After that we do not have anyone that smokes in the family, our house is always SMOKE free. My maternal grandfather was a heavy smoker though, I was too young to remember if he ever did smoke in front of us. He died when I was 6, but I do remember the strong ciggy smell on his body. My grandfather life would have been saved if he has not been such a heavy smoker. He didn’t die of lung cancer, but he met an accident and I think there was internal bleeding that wasn’t detected earlier. But at the same time his lung was too weak to support him. I remembered my mum told us, the x-ray picture of my grandfather’s lung shown a very damaged lung. My uncle, mum’s eldest brother who was a doctor told us that part of the lung is rotten and blackened. If only he has a stronger and healthier lung , perhaps he would have pull through. I’m glad I married into a smoke free family at least I have one less thing to worry, how to teach the children smoking is bad when there’s someone puffing away in the family. If I could never find a non smoker life partner, I rather stay single and become an old spinster rather than marrying a smoker. Thank goodness, I’m married to a non smoker family.

I was told about this product called Champix which can help smokers to quit smoking even if they have been smoking for years. It seems that this product helps the receptors of your brain to forget about nicotine which in turn makes you forget about cigarettes. Apparently you can quit smoking with Champix in just a couple of weeks. For most people, they totally quit their smoking in about 12 weeks and never started again. It would be really good if the smokers can give it a try for their health sake.
